Established in 2006 by Tog Den Won Po Chongtul Rinpoche, Bon Shen Ling’s Woodside Temple is home to the Bon community in and around New York City. The temple holds teachings, ritual services and community celebrations in English and Tibetan for long-time practitioners and newcomers, young and old.
Our mission involves preserving the Bon native religion of Tibet and its teachings of meditation, healing, and compassion for the world; providing assistance for the impoverished through the creation of educational and medical programs in India, Tibet, Bhutan, Mongolia, and Nepal; and establishing a vocational training school and Cultural Complex center in India and a United States Cultural Center to share the Bon tradition by teaching the Bon philosophy of meditation techniques and healing modalities.
Bon Shen Ling also has a temple and retreat center located in Warwick, New York, which offers a bookstore and modest lodging and food for Bon Shen Ling students to study and practice under the direct guidance of Rinpoche.
Note: Unless attending a specific event, visitation to Bon Shen Ling’s Temples and Retreat Center is by appointment only.
